In the past week legendary rugby commentator Bill McLaren passed away at 86 and was buried on Monday. The Scotsman worked in rugby for over 50 years and over that time his unique style made him THE voice of rugby. Not only hae generations of ruggers grown up inspired by his voice and passion for the game, but his legacy will live on as his approach to rugby commentary has inspired imitation from those that will continue to call the game.

I'm sure I would have loved the sport without Bill McLaren, but I know that I would not have loved it as much.

Bill McLaren, you will be missed.

Well, it's good to see that you're still going strong. I take it you've survived the transition. We miss you around here (on the blog and St. Louis), and hope to see you back in force online once you're settled in.
