Apparently, Toronto is going to be graced with some 3000 educational signs on Toronto Transit Commission vehicles.  The signs are both easy on the eyes and educational.  Check out CoolCosmos for more examples.

And while I am on the topic of supernovae, astronomers at the Chandra X-Ray observatory have just released a time lag video of the continued expansion of Cassiopeia A, a supernova remnant.  You can read all about it from Scientific Blogging's News Staff.

Thanks to Phil Plait at Bad Astronomy, on whom I generally rely for things both cool and astronomical, for originally bringing these to my attention.

Man, our Related Article block is hosed up, or so I thought.   Looking at the Cassiopeia article you linked above it says a related article is What Do An Ethiopian King, A Candle And Minnesota Have In Common?  which didn't make a lot of sense until I read "He had a really snobby wife named Cassiopeia".

Oops.  Sorry Related Articles.   You rule!

I'll have my Toronto correspondent be on the lookout for any awesome signs. Being a rugby player herself, she'll probably spot the coolest ones.

I believe that one can preview all the signs at the Cool Cosmos.  I imagine the "side of the bus" effect will be even better.
