About Matthew
Matthew Brown comes to ScientificBlogging from the University of Oxford, where he received his Master of Science degree in Physiology.
His previous research has included Cardiac Allograft Vasculopathy and Polycystic Kidney Disease, and his most recent work includes a study he designed which uses functional magnetic resonance imaging to examine cerebral abnormalities in Unexplained Underperformance Syndrome, a debilitating condition affecting endurance athletes. He also holds a degree in biology from Yale University, where he was an Associate Editor of the Yale Journal of Medicine and Law. In this capacity, he was awarded a Mellon research grant to undertake research in bioethics.
His interests include the history and practice of fine art—especially photography—as well as the outdoors.
