LONDON, September 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Men suffering from erectile dysfunction could see their long-term sexual spontaneity restored to normal after just 1 month with the help of daily natural sex supplement Prelox(R), according to research(1) published in the latest issue of the International Journal of Impotence Research. The study, carried out on 50 men aged between 30 and 50 years, also showed that sexual desire, intercourse satisfaction and intercourse frequency almost doubled during the trial period, leading to improved 'sexual wellness'.

"52% of men in their 40s have trouble maintaining an erection, causing embarrassment and distress which may affect the health of their relationship," commented Paula Hall, a leading sex and relationships psychotherapist. "As with any age-related condition, there are various preventative measures men can employ to counter ED and to take control of their sexual health. Staying fit and eating healthily, building self-esteem and taking a daily supplement, like Prelox(R), can all help to restore natural sexual spontaneity and reduce the stress associated with it."

Trialist, Professor Peter Rohdewald from the University of Munster commented, "This research clearly highlights that when erectile function is improved, overall sexual satisfaction also increases significantly. Prelox(R) offers a safe and very effective treatment option for mild to moderate erectile dysfunction which can be used alone or in combination with existing medicines."

Prelox(R) is made from a unique combination of L-Arginine, an essential amino acid associated with sexual arousal, and Pycnogenol(R) a pine bark extract known for properties which boost circulation. It is the unique interaction between these two substances which helps to maintain healthy blood vessels and sustain blood flow to the genital area, which in turn, is important in the body's sexual response, ability to maintain erections, and ultimately sexual satisfaction. Supplementation with Prelox(R) over time means spontaneity is retained.

Prelox(R) costs GBP29.75 for 60 tablets and is available from Harrods, Selfridges, GNC, Holland & Barrett and independent health food stores. For further information please go to http://www.prelox.com

Notes:

Patients in the first randomised, double-blind trial of the product received a daily dose of either Prelox(R) or placebo for 31 days. Patients selected for the trial were in steady relationships of at least 6 months. Sexual activity was recorded in a personal diary and end-of-trial questionnaire and was used to score sexual wellness according to the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF). Testosterone levels and e-NOS were monitored along with routine clinical chemistry. Treatment with Prelox(R) produced a significant rise in e-NOS activity and testosterone levels during the trial period.

Normal blood pressure in slightly hypertensive patients was restored as expected due to this known effect of Pycnogenol(R).
