LONDON, November 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Media reports over the weekend suggested that Marion Walker FRPharm, who has resigned from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD), was representing the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on the Council.

It is a statutory requirement that there is a pharmacist representative on the ACMD, but no member of the ACMD represents the Society. All members of the ACMD are appointed by the Secretary of State for Health after an independent recruitment process.

Marion Walker is a Fellow of the Society with extensive expertise in the field of drugs misuse.
