I read this in today's Daily Telegraph:

Campaigns to protect native species 'are racist'



Have a read(LINK), and don't you think he is carrying things too far?  Although I have heard groundsmen referring to the grubbing up specimens of the invasive Acer pseudoplatanus, usually called the "sycamore", as "ethnic cleansing".

Society goes through swings.  30 years ago women were being told they were the same as men.  Well, we all knew that wasn't true; women wanted equality, not homogeny.   So it goes with political correctness today.    Some won't be happy unless we are all one color - or pretend we don't notice otherwise.

40 years ago we all worried about native animal and plant extinction - now we are racist if we do?  It just goes to show you that academia has its fair share of kooks too.

These kooks may be everywhere, but they're all of a type, and draw from the same well.
